Touchy Feely

Tech is definitely an exciting tool. I like that various demonstrations of content are available online. I really like that technology will allow the student choices to develop a product based on their learning. I think blogs etc are about producing a community in the virtual world and are so interesting to the future of how the world will hopefully work as a community. What I am concerned about are the hands on stuff of the human experience...the senses. Goes back to our individual philosophy of education. For me technology would be part of a balance.

I agree that too much of any one aspect of education is likely to leave students with problem areas, but realistically in today's world, the student who has weak technology training is going to be so far behind other candidates for just about any job that we really have to think about what the student just Must learn. I refer you to the article I reviewed for my first e-scan. Doug Johnsom gives very practical suggestions for lessons that addres not just the technical literacy of students but which allow them to be both creative and connected to others.
